Ronda
Just a quarter of an hour away, Ronda is a must: the Puente Nuevo bridge over the Tajo gorge, the old town, the bullring and its viewpoints. Ideally, stroll at an easy pace and stay for lunch or dinner.
Cueva de la Pileta (Benaoján)
One of the most important caves with prehistoric art in Europe. It was discovered in 1905 by the farmer José Bullón, and its largest paintings are more than 20,000 years old. Visits are guided only, in small groups and by prior booking, so book well in advance.
Cueva del Gato
The exit of the underground river that begins at the Hundidero, with its famous cold-water pool. It is five minutes from the car park. Read our Cueva del Gato guide.
Cueva del Hundidero and Presa de los Caballeros
A short walk from Montejaque to a century-old dam that never filled and the giant mouth of the cave where the river disappears. Read our Hundidero guide.
Setenil de las Bodegas
A unique village where the houses and streets are built under the rock. Wander through its covered streets and stop to eat in one of its bars and restaurants.
Zahara de la Sierra
A white village crowned by a castle, above a reservoir of turquoise water, in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema. The views from the top are worth the climb.
